GlobalFoundries update

Greg Connors, second from right, was our speaker yesterday, and is shown here with, from left, Malta Rotarians Paul Sausville (former town supervisor), Carrie Woerner (state assemblywoman) and Arlene Schmidt (club president). Greg is himself a former Stillwater supervisor and current Malta resident, who now works for GlobalFoundries.
GlobalFoundries has, he pointed out, "the most advanced semiconductor factory in the world" located in our town, along with a research facility pushing for ever more high-tech advances. About 3,046 GlobalFoundries employees work at the site, along with another 575 contract workers.

Meeting cancelled this morning

Due to the ongoing snow storm, President Arlene Schmidt has cancelled this morning's meeting (Feb. 9, 2017).
Last week we had a business meeting, and made a couple of $100 donations to the Rotary district food drive and CAPTAIN homeless outreach.
The deadline for our scholarship application is coming up (see Jan. 7 post below) on Feb. 15.
