He started the company after being laid off last year from the US Geological Survey. An environmental scientist, he shared images of his trip to the Arctic while getting a master's degree from Syracuse University.
At the US Geological Survey, his work included evaluating environmental restoration near Philadelphia, and collaborating with the New York state DEC on reintroducing salmon to Lake Ontario.
His current work includes monitoring solar panels in Texas.
